Teenager Hit By Train After Jumping On Tracks To Save Her Phone

A teenage girl needlessly risked her life trying to rescue her phone after she dropped it on the tracks of the New York subway.

Chenelle Agnew was hit by a train in Brookly, but escaped with only minor injuries, the New York Post reports.

The girl’s phone was also undamaged, as she was pictured using the device while being wheeled to the ambulance on a stretcher.

It is reported that the teen’s phone slipped through her fingers at the Bergen Street train station and she elected to jump onto the tracks to retrieve it.

Surprisingly the teen only suffered minor cuts and bruises.

At the time she was on the tracks, a train began to approach the station and ran her over before she was able to climb back onto the platform.

Devone Mason, the train’s operator, told the newspaper: ‘I saw her in the tracks trying to pick something up.

‘And then I heard her hit. I heard the thump. I didn’t know if she was alive or dead.’

Luckily, Chenelle survived the impact with the train and was pulled off the tracks by emergency services and was seen wearing a neck brace, with no other obvious signs of injury.
