Former WWE Star Booker T To Run For Mayor in 2020

WWE hall-of-famer and Houston native Booker T announced that he will be running for mayor in his hometown on his radio show ‘Heated Conversations’. 

Booker T being one of the most accomplished athletes in WWE history was inducted into the company’s Hall of Fame in 2013 and has an incredible backstory.

In his early 20s he was sentenced to 5-years in prison on aggravated robbery charges and after being released from prison, Booker and his brother Stevie Ray, began training as wrestlers.


Booker and his brother Stevie-Ray were popular wrestlers in the WCW.

Within a few years, the team had made it to the World Championship Wrestling company (WCW), which was at the time the most popular wrestling promotion in the United States.

Booker went on to become a 21-time champion in the WCW, and after moving to the WWE became it’s World Heavyweight Champion.

Currently, the mayor of Houston is Sylvester Turner, who was elected in January of this year and will serve a four-year term.
