Of all the things you should not do during your job interview, stealing your future employer’s wallet is right on the top of the list.
Shogo Takeda is suspected of stealing the wallet, containing ¥50,000 (£360) in cash, from the president’s bag when he briefly left the room.
The 24-year-old from Yokohama said: ‘I wanted to work for that company, but since I haven’t got a job I needed money.’ reports The Japan Times.
The company president told police that he and Takeda were the only people in the room.
Takeda wasn’t hard to track down – because he had helpfully included his home address and phone number on his CV.
Unsurprisingly, he did not contact the company to find out if he got the job.
